From 1902, By M. Constant, Premier Valet de Chambre. Translated from the French version. 2 volumes from a 3 volume set about the side of Napoleon that not many knew. He was an Emperor, soldier, statesman and politician, but these volumes, by his valet who joined him in 1800 and was with him constantly, are about Napoleon the man. Volume 2 has 435 pages, Volume 3 has 323 pages. Both have black and white plates. Navy blue cloth covers with titles stamped in gold and gold tipped pages. Shows wear on spines and volume 3 has whitish stains on the front cover. Pages are yellowed and there are small stains on both inside front and back covers. Fabulous finds for the vintage library.
